You’ve Had Your Run…
If you are here, you may very well be wondering where you have seen this comic before? Answer - It was the last comic I did for The Pursuit of Mandy, except this is an updated version. When I went back to clean this up and add some new, I realized how much fun and happiness Mandy, Parry, Sammy and Fenton brings me. For the first time I understood some of the comments that suggested hurt, sadness and frustration.
I ended Mandy because I had become frustrated with everything that was going on. The comic race for syndication, The Panel Mammals and all my stupid rules, my comic process, everything. I wrote this strip this way because I wanted it to portray sadness and still portray hope. Hope being that, the future is still unwritten, that this does not have to happen. Pretty deep, eh, for a comic about a little girl and her three imagined friends?
Time away brought new perspective and direction. This is the song that plays in my head whenever I think of my own funeral. Ending a comic strip so close to my creative self was like a funeral. It is a beautiful, sad song, that forever plays in strip 100.
The End? Has Mandy had her run?
No. This Friday, December 5th, Mandy returns. She has been gone for awhile but seems better than ever.
I’m better than ever.

To answer your question boss, I only voted for Clovis once! LOL

I vote for either Harvey or Oprah.
Glad to see Mandy returning, but please don’t overwork and burn yourself out, boss. Any comic from Jarrett brightens my day.

@ Lucas - That poll was a test for you. You failed.
@ Worth - I like when you call me boss. It makes me think I am the head honcho on the Green Mile. Glad my comics are a positive influence in your notoriously disturbed life.

Glad to see Mandy back…sad to see this art style carry over from SDH. You know my issues with it, so I won’t repeat it here. I’ll be here on Friday!

Very cool that Mandy returns. I for one like that the style is formatted the same. It fits TPOM like a warm fuzzy glove.

I’m smiling.
I mean, really really smiling.
See you tomorrow, Mandy. Glad you’ve come off the milk carton.

That’s it MJ…give Brock hell.
Justin…you’re a handsome man, I mean, really really handsome…so the smile is an added bonus.

Actually, Brock, if you don’t need to repeat it here, you don’t need to mention it here.
You’re entitled to your issues. But be classier about it.

@ Greg - Finally!!!!…A reader has risen and pulled the sword out of my heart.
Brock means well, he just needs a creative enema…

@Jarrett: “pulled the sword out of my heart”… If you have a heart of stone, would that make me the king of England?
