Chapter 105 - United Wii Suffer
First and foremost…Happy New Year to everyone and all your families. 2008 brought me and my family many changes and has set me up for an exciting 2009. It’s Monday and there is a new strip?? Hmmm?? Is this the sign of MORE MANDY STRIPS PER WEEK? We’ll see tomorrow I guess?
As you can see by today’s strip, I have given PIG from Stephan Pastis’ ‘Pearls Before Swine’ a cameo. Stephan has said some nice things to me about Mandy in the past, and I absolutely LOVE his comic. It’s one of the only comics that makes me laugh without even reading it. His character drawings alone are as funny as most comics. Why put a high profile character cameo from a syndicated strip in my little strip you ask?? Just because I may know Stephan’s strip, doesn’t mean all my readers do. I know for a fact that many of my friends do not. Now you do. NOW GO. READ! BUY!
As for my Christmas Contest, Nobody, NOT EVEN Michael Witmer of Pinkerton fame won my Christmas Song Countdown Contest. I thought is was easy…next year we’ll do it again and maybe I’ll have to pony up a prize? The answers to the 10 songs are below. All the right answers were given, just not by a single person.

Hi everyone! I just got back from visiting “Pearls Before Swine” by Stephan Pastis’ (today’s guest in Mandy’s strip is Pig from that carotoon) and I have to say I haven’t laughed this much since last reading Jarrett’s work for Many and Some Dya Hero (yes I am loyal!). GO NOW and check it out by clicking on the first link in Jarrett’s blog above. I laughed extra long because I recnetly found myself trying to explain what “going Dutch” actually means–and this is perfect.
Jarrett, thank you so much for going 5 days a week with Mandy, although I hope you don’t leave us hanging too much waiting for the next installment of Some Day Hero!! The last one was hoot with the duck eating the crystal–ducks have a mind of their own (minds?)!
Thank you also, Jarrett for connecting me with so many delightful artists and readers and music throughthe blog and comment areas of your strips. And of course for Mandy and gang and Reeve, Riley and Duck!. They are ALL brightening up a life (mine) that’s taken more than a few hits in the last 6 months!

The new “Chapter” title panel is very… Cute.
A lot more girly than I would have pictured for Miss Mandy and her need to terrify the boys.
But, then again, the horns are just there to hold up the halo, right?
I’m liking that you made Mandy’s beauty mark more pronounced, and using the color blue to give her hair some “lighting effects” was the right choice.
I’m pleased that it’s still a wild mess, if I do say so.

Oh man this is hilarious!! Love the update, I truly laughed out loud! Need to get me a Wii badly. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s update.

Laurinda - I am glad you liked Pearls and have found some laughter to add to your life. You don’t need to thank me for that, but whatever you do, do not thank Brock. As for the spelling mistakes…I love having an editor with your track record…it’s very fitting for my reputation.
@ Captain - Sweet Hay-Zeus…she has forgiven me and the Captain returns!! Good News…the contest isn’t over…you still have plenty of time to think and to submit. I am glad you are back to critiquing me…I always enjoy your words. “the horns are just there to hold up the halo & outskies”…you should be writing this strip, kid.
